Last night was fantastic. :) We put up the Christmas tree & decorations!!! It looks really good, I have to say. Brendan was over, so he helped, too. It was fun, we had Christmas music playing, and we were all singing along.

Then Tarryn, Brendan & I went to the Hyperdome and Brendan bought me a Christmas present! It's a fluffy toy cow, it's so cute and soft. :) I bought him a fluffy toy panther. Oooh, then we saw my friend Kirsty (from school) and her boyfriend. Kirsty and I email each other all the time, but I haven't seen her in AGES! So that was cool.

So yeah, that's all, but it was really good. Brendan's such a cool guy, he's really kind, generous and funny. He's a good friend. :)

10 days until the Malaysia team comes home! (Yes, I miss them) :)

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder"... I think that's true. ;)

Sometimes I am so happy, my heart feels like it's going to explode! :D Like right now. God is so good!!!!!

Hello!

I'm not sure what to write... I was going to divulge who I have a crush on, but that would be a bad idea. Indeed. :) You know, I figured out that I often confuse having respect for someone with having a crush on them. So it's possible that I just really respect this person, and don't have a crush on him at all. Hmmm. Very interesting.

I think that's about all I have to say at the moment. :) I'm very boring.

The Colors of Love Test

Alyssa, when you reveal your true colors in love, you're a Connected Partner

You are the kind of jovial people-person who can brighten almost anyone's day. You take great enjoyment in having deep emotional attachments; that's true both in love, as well as with your friends and family. As a result, when it comes to romance, you're likely to seek out a partner you can feel completely bonded to and share your innermost thoughts with. Once you've found this special someone, you'll likely keep them happy with your caring nature and sometimes-goofy sense of humor.

I've been reading 'Boy Meets Girl' by Joshua Harris lately. Aside from being a fantastic book, and clearing up a lot of questions I had about courtship vs. dating, it has made me realise that, to a certain extent, I have been idolising marriage. I've found myself thinking about who I want to marry, what my wedding dress is going to look like, what I'm going to name my children... and desiring marriage much more than I should. One of the parts in the book that really spoke to me was this:

'One of my favourite authors, John Piper, has made his life message this simple but profound truth: "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him." What does this mean? It means that we can exalt God by trusting in Him and desiring Him above anything else in life - more than companionship, more than romance, more than marriage. When we do, our lives say louder than words that He is more fulfilling than all these things.

Unlike all the fleeting pleasures of this world, when we make God the object of our soul's longing, He truly satisfies us - we find the lasting peace and joy we long for. Only then can we have a healthy, happy relationship, because instead of the relationship being our reason for living, it becomes an expression of the fact that we're living for Someone greater.'

Wow. :) So I'm going to try and make God my 'soul's longing', my one and only desire, and trust Him with every aspect of my life. That includes romance / marriage.

The Planet Shakers conference is on in January! I totally can't wait, it is going to be fantastic!

Prayer Point - Pastor Steve, Keren, Brendan, Ben, Sam, Katie, Roger & Hannah who are currently on an outreach trip to Singapore and Malaysia. I pray that they have a safe journey and that God protects them, provides for them and blesses them all tremendously. Also that souls are saved on the trip, and that God pours out His anointing on the churches they visit.

High Voltage Youth ROCKS!!!

P.S. I got the blood test results back, and they are unclear of whether or not I have hemochromatosis. I have to go for another blood test in 6 months. :)
